Data Protection

The purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 is to ensure that any personal data an organisation holds about an individual is stored and used in an appropriate way. Fairmilehead Parish Church, SCO 15967, through the Presbytery of Edinburgh, is registered with the Information Commissioner and strives to comply fully with data protection law.  The Information Commissioner’s website provides in-depth information regarding the requirements of the Data Protection Act:

Our Policy is:

“The Kirk Session of Fairmilehead Parish Church are committed to protecting your privacy and safeguarding your personal data. We are registered with the Information Commissioner through the umbrella registration of the Presbytery of Edinburgh and strive to comply fully with data protection law. We shall use the information you have provided us with (name, address, telephone/mobile numbers and e-mail addresses) for the provision of The Membership Roll, Pastoral Care and contacting you about church events.  We will only keep the data for as long as necessary.   Please inform the Roll Keeper through the Church Centre Co-ordinator of any changes to your contact details”.
