Christian Aid May 2018

Christian Aid is committed to standing together with some of our poorest neighbours across the globe and fighting for dignity, equality and justice for all.  In Haiti, Christian Aid is helping to build new houses for people whose homes have been destroyed by earthquake or hurricane.

(1)       A key element of our fundraising during Christian  Aid Week is the door-to-door collection - and we urgently require more collectors to help with distributing and collecting envelopes house to house.  If you can spare a couple of hours we will be very glad to hear from you.  If you have helped before we hope that you will be able to get involved again this year.

The amount we raised in Fairmilehead in 2017 was much lower than previous years because we did not have enough collectors - please do contact the church office, Noreen Bryce or Scott Arthur if you can help.  Thank you!

If you are not in when the collector returns to collect your envelope, please hand it in to one of the following shops - Boots Pharmacy, 10a Buckstone Terrace, Edinburgh News 127-129 Comiston Road or Hme Hardware, 169 Morningside Road or give on line at

(2)  Join the congregation on Sunday 20 May, 2018 after the 10.30am Pentecost Celebration service for Brunch - bring your own sandwiches, a plate and some fruit in a bag.  If you'd like to donate some home baking to share with others then that is especially welcome.  Then, at the end please donate some money to Christian Aid.

(3)  Meet a friend for coffee at the Spring Fair at Morningside Parish Church's Halls between 10am and 1pm on Saturday 26 May, 2018.  Free admission!  There will be plants, cards, books, baking, jam and cakes for sale.
