Toilet Twinning Charity Appeal

Young Church Appeal 2018: Toilet Twinning

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO THIS APPEAL.

11 'TOILET TWINNED' CERTIFICATES ARE NOW ON THE TOILET WALLS!

Don't worry if you have missed the deadline, we will accept any donations.  We've raised nearly £600 so have managed to 'twin' all our  church toilets in the main Church Centre but there are still four toilets in the nursery area to 'twin'.  Just give your donations to any office bearer (the ones with the badges) on a Sunday morning and they will make sure it goes to Toilet Twinning

2.3 Billion people across the world don’t have access to a safe and clean toilet. Because of this nearly 1,000 children die each day from preventable diseases linked to dirty water and unsafe toilets.

Toilet Twinning is an initiative set up by international relief and development agency TearFund. The money raised through Toilet Twinning goes towards providing clean water, basic sanitation and hygiene education.

We have chosen to support Toilet Twinning as our Young Church Appeal for 2018. Our aim is to twin each of the public toilets in the church centre with ones across the world, helping to provide clean sanitation to impoverished families and communities.

Our very own Ross Annan, one of our Young Church leaders, ran 5k on 26 May 2018 as part of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival to raise money for the Young Church's Toilet Twinning Charity Appeal.  If you'd like to sponsor Ross, please use the link below

We will be collecting money from 22nd April until 17th June and donations can be added to the Toilet Block outside the Church Office.

This quite simple and fun initiative led by TearFund can go a long way to battling poor sanitation worldwide.
