Young Church Christmas Appeal

This year’s Young Church Christmas appeal is for Women’s Aid. Locally a number of services are provided by Women’s Aid to women and children who are affected by domestic abuse. Their services include a crisis telephone service, drop in support services, safe refuges, outreach support, and advice services, as well as specialist assistance for children.

We are asking that you help to support vulnerable women and children by bringing gifts to share at Christmas.  Vouchers suitable for activities such as bowling, the cinema, sort play or the zoo are very welcome;  as are books, toys and games for children or teenagers  For the women items such as toiletries and make-up are also particularly welcome, as are vouchers for basic fresh foods, school clothing, and family needs, for example from Asda, Morrison’s, Sainsbury’s and Tesco.   Small treats like these can help make Christmas a little better for many families.

If you are able, we are asking you to bring your gifts to the Young Church Gift Service and play on Sunday 17 December.  Alternatively, please drop your gift in to the Church Office, and it will be taken down to women’s aid after the Gift Service and Play.   Please do not wrap your gift, but please do provide wrapping paper so that the gift may be wrapped before it is given out.
