Knitting Club - second Tuesday of each month

The Knitting Club, like everthing else, is cancelled. However, please don't stop kniiting.  Our Young Church ask if you could knit black jumpers and cardigans for children starting Primary 1.

We have a church Knitting Club who meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 10am so why not come along?  You don't have to be an expert knitter, just someone who enjoys knitting and wants to get involved in one of our knitting projects.

There will be knitting, tea, coffee and cake as well as lots of chatting, just maybe not all in that order!

1. Continue with hats, gloves and scarves for St. Catharine's Mercy Centre, Lauriston Place, Edinburgh - there is a permanent need for these.

2. Knit Blanket squares - there is a charity who use these blankets - one of our members will sew the squares together and another who wil crocket an edge to the completed blanket so all you need to do is :

  • Use size 8/4mm needles
  • double knitting wool
  • to make the blanket, cast on one stitch, then cast on one stitch at the beginning of each row until there are 30 stitches, then cast off one stitch at the beginning of each row until one stitch is left.  Please leave a longist tail of wool to allow the squares to be sewn together

The first blanket has been completed - well done ladies!

Thank you to all our wonderful knitters who have knitted, so far, 59 hats, 19 scarves, 5 sets of hats of scarves, 3 pairs of gloves and neck warmers for the homeless.

f you are at home on your own on a Tuesday morning then why not come along?  You don't need to be a church member because our Knitting Club is open to everyone.  You'll get a warm welcome and it's a great way to get to know other people too.

Please give Carole in the church office a ring for further information (0131 445 1065)
